Coastal Lace: A Damask of Shells and Stories

Before wallpaper, there were walls. And before those—there were stories.
When I began the Signature Line, I wasn’t just designing patterns. I was painting memories. I believe our walls should hold the beauty of our lives—not just in the art we hang, but in the patterns that surround us daily. They see the birthdays, the quiet mornings, the tears at the kitchen table. They hold our stories in silence.
Coastal Lace is one of those patterns rooted in a place that lives deep in me.
I grew up on the stony beaches of Connecticut, where there was little sand but no shortage of treasure. Smooth shells, bits of coral, weathered stones—all scattered in soft, natural order. Those textures and that quiet rhythm became the inspiration for this damask-style pattern.
Each element of Coastal Lace is hand-painted: clam shells, tiny spirals, marine fragments arranged with both structure and softness. It’s elegant without being fussy. A conversation piece that feels like it’s always been there.
Design Tip:
Let Coastal Lace lead the room, and then step back. Choose natural textures—worn pine, soft linen, antique brass. It’s stunning on a powder room wall, but just as lovely on an entry bench cushion (yes, the linen fabric is launching too!). You’re creating a space that feels layered, not styled.
Antique Tip:
This pattern invites pieces with soul. Look for a milk-painted cabinet with OG glass, or a chest that’s earned its wear. The beauty of Coastal Lace is that it can elevate a room without overpowering the antiques you’ve thoughtfully collected.
Paint Pairings:
To pull out the soft structure and stony tones, try:
Farrow & Ball “De Nimes” – a slightly moody, historical blue
Benjamin Moore “White Dove” – warm enough for trim or ceilings
Sherwin-Williams “Misty” – a gentle coastal blue-gray that reflects the Connecticut shore
Printed in the USA on high-end wallpaper with Swedish precision, Coastal Lace offers a premium finish and quick turnaround. Linen upholstery is coming at launch, with woven fabrics to follow.
If your walls could talk, what would they say?
Let Coastal Lace become part of that story.
